Llano Real Estate, Homes and Property

Historic Llano, Texas is the county seat of Llano County. Llano is the "Hub of the Texas Hill Country", one of the most popular destinations in Texas. Llano is also known as the "Sportsmans Paradise" and the "Deer Capital of Texas.

Llano County is home to Enchanted Rock in the southern part of the county. Enchanted Rock State Park offers rock climbing, hiking, bird watching and a number of outdoor activities. The view from the top of the rock is breath taking, offering views of Llano County, Mason County and Gillespie County.

The Llano River flows through Llano County and the City of Llano. The river has its headwaters in Kimble County where it fed by underground springs. Additional springs add to the flow of the Llano River until it flows into Lake LBJ, the third of the of string of Lakes known as the Highland Lakes, in Kingsland, along with the Colorado River from Lake Buchanan and Inks Lake.

On the east side of the County, the boundry between Llano and Burnet Counties runs through Lake Buchanan, the first and largest of the Highland Lakes in the Central Texas Hill Country. Lake Buchanan offers fishing, boating and swimming for visitors and residents alike.

The towns of Tow, Bluffton and Buchanan Dam are located on Lake Buchanan. Black Rock State Park offers camping on the lake. There are numerous cabins available for rental around the lake. Boats and water skis are available for rental from a number of businesses.

After Lake Buchanan, the next of the Highland Lakes is Inks Lake. Inks Lake offers fishing, boating and swimming. Camping is available at Inks Lake State Park where each evening whitetail deer can be found feeding.

The third of the Highland Lakes is Lake LBJ. The towns of Kingsland, Granite Shoals and Sunrise Beach are located on the shores of Lake LBJ. Like the other Highland Lakes, Lake LBJ offers fishing, boating and swimming. Numerous cabins are available for rent around the lake as well as boats and personal water craft.
